madpea carneval

so the other night, allarik && i went on a little adventure.

it totally wasn’t a date…

absolutely not.

not a date at all.

…okay so yeah maybe it was a date. v_v

but! we visited a really amazing sim, called madpea carneval which was full of such awesomely spooky atmosphere.

who doesn’t love a super creepy amusement park, amirite?

between the ambient music, eerie lighting (you MUST use the windlight setting for the region if you’re on a viewer that allows you to! it totally sets the mood!) and all the menacing, dilapidated decorations.. you immediately get the feeling like this place is most def haunted. and i love that!

once you walk through the open mouth at the front entrance, you step out into a midway-like area with lots of carnival games. you know, the typical ones you see at theme parks where you’re more likely to lose your money than win the big stuffed scooby doo? throwing games, ball games, shooting games… all with very distinctive names like shotgun wedding and skullpop.

arik && i tried our hands at these and while we didn’t do poorly, we didn’t do spectacular either. but he did win a really awesome prize… i’ll get to that at the end. ;P

another game we tried was called escape the room where, once you walk inside the doors, you’re trapped in a small room with only a few objects at your disposal to help you get out. you play with a HUD that you’re given at the start and you need to figure out the puzzle to get the code that reopens the door. allarik && i were really shit at this. xD we missed clues and i couldn’t help but cam inside the furniture (i cam around a LOT, what can i say?) which was a little spoiler-ific, but in the end we managed to escape anyway. very impressive and fun!

there are rides there, too! a very unsafe looking rollercoaster called the spider, a broken down ferris wheel, even a tunnel of doom where was very foreboding on the outside. there are lots of little surprises too — like the animation you’re put in when you ride the merry-go-round — and it’s almost as fun to just explore and look at everything as it is to hop on all the attractions.

you never know what you might end up seeing… like this fellow here. there were also concession stands (that serve soup that make you loopy!) and a broken down sideshow and a knife-throwing game that was supposedly out of order.

the build, though, is what i was most impressed with. the textures and the structures were just… really fuckin’ cool. lots of creepy detail all over this sim, which both freaked me out && intrigued me all the same. plus, it was a great place to take some fantastically chilling snapshots && would make the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot with some undead carnival goers. y’know, if you’re into that sorta thing.

i really enjoyed it and had a great time exploring with allarik.. but when we were finished going over the sim pixel-by-pixel and headed back to my home, he unpacked the prize he won from one of the games….

i think he’ll fit right in when we inevitably go back to madpea carneval for another visit~

I will. I was wanted to check out the state of the game again. Number of players, the community, and also new content.

      • if it’s been a while since you logged in last, then there are lots of new things to check out. good luck if you dive back in! 🙂
